Molly Hogg has travelled to source textiles from Africa and Asia since the early 1980’s.
It has been an absorbing interest of Molly’s to introduce textiles that display new techniques, skills or simply pure brilliance of design both to herself and others.
Molly has journeyed from the Atlas Mountains for the abstract Henna Veils of the Berber people, to India with its rich diversity of textile and design history. An area of particular specialisation includes 18th century trading cloths from the Coromandel Coast of India. These cloths were also traded for spices, gems, and rare woods to Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
These latter two areas have also been a rich source of exquisite antique textiles and artefacts.
Recently Molly has started to explore other areas of design and will now be showing antique furniture from Africa and Asia, tribal objects from Africa, as well as some contemporary ceramics.
